Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Atlanta is Now CredAbility
Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Atlanta is Now CredAbility
By
David Pilley
on March 21, 2011
The company Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Atlanta has recently changed its named to CredAbility. The company changed its name in 2010 to avoid confusion with other similarly-named companies. Though the name has changed, its upstanding service has not. CredAbility can be a wonderful resource for you if you need counseling.
CredAbility was founded in Atlanta, GA, in 1964. It is a national nonprofit agency that helps financially distressed people find solutions to alleviate their debt issues. The company provides information on a wide range of topics, including bankruptcy, debt management, and mortgage loans. CredAbility stresses that it cannot repair your credit or settle your debt; it can provide you with the information on how to go about repairing your credit, but it can’t do it for you.
CredAbility is accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and it has been an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since Jan. 1, 1990. Though based in Atlanta, it currently has 33 offices located throughout Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee. CredAbility can also serve clients nationwide through telephone or via website. Services are available in both English and Spanish.
Before you decide on getting help, the website offers advice on financial topics. The topics include bankruptcy counseling,
debt management plans
,
foreclosure prevention
, applying for a
reverse mortgage
, and
budgeting
. The website also offers a video on how to prepare for a counseling session. It tells you what documents you need in order to benefit from counseling.
The company is an immense source of financial knowledge, and this is backed up by the FAQ section. Just under the “Bankruptcy” section, there are a good ten questions and detailed answers to these questions. For example, the site tells you how much each bankruptcy counseling section will cost per household, it tells you how long each session should take, it provides a referral program for a list of attorneys, it evens tells you what “per household” means. This information shows what CredAbility is all about, making sure clients are as informed as possible before making financial decisions.
I think the best part of the website is its personable nature. It’s not just a resource of information; it’s a human experience. Alongside or at the top of every page on the site, you will see the name of an employee, his/her name, what he/she specializes in, and how long he/she has been working for the company. There is also a page where you can find the name of each member of the management team and their qualifications. These people want you to know who they are, and they want to help you out.
It’s not surprising that CredAbility has a Better Business Bureau rating of A+. It is a credible resource for financial information that can help you get out of debt problems.
